Frequently Asked Questions
How does shipping work?
You have two options.
The painting can arrive fully stretched and framed, ready to hang the moment it reaches you.
Or you can choose the rolled option: the canvas is carefully removed from its stretcher, rolled for shipping, and restretched once it arrives, framed too, if you'd like. This route costs less to ship.
Shipping costs and timing depend on where the piece is headed, so we'll work that out together. Within Germany, shipping is free. For the EU and beyond, just reach out and I'll walk you through the details.
Will my painting come framed?
Yes, if you'd like one. Every frame is handmade, at no extra cost.
A handmade frame is available when your painting ships fully stretched, or if you pick it up in person. With the rolled option, the canvas gets restretched locally first, and a frame can be added there.
Can I see the painting in person before buying?
Photos rarely capture what a painting feels like in real life, especially the texture and depth of color.
If you're nearby, you're welcome to visit the studio in Trier and see the original. Otherwise, just ask and I'll send you more photos or a short video for a closer look.
How do I know it's an original?
Every piece comes with a certificate of authenticity and is signed on the back.
How should I take care of my painting?
Each surface is sealed with fixative. For pieces made with oil pastels, a complete seal isn't fully possible, that's simply the nature of the material.
The best protection is keeping it out of direct sunlight. UV exposure shifts color over time, so a spot away from harsh light keeps the depth intact longest.
Your painting will also feel most at home somewhere without major shifts in humidity, so avoid spots directly above a radiator or in a very damp room.
How do I buy an original?
Every piece on annaschrenk.art can be requested directly. There's no cart on purpose, an original deserves a personal moment, not a quick checkout.
Once you reach out, I'll get back to you myself to confirm it's still available. From there, you'll receive a secure payment link so you can complete your purchase safely and easily.
Can I return a painting?
Yes. You have the legal right to withdraw within 14 days. If the piece isn't right for you, you're welcome to send it back within that window.
Whats important is that it comes back undamaged and in its original packaging, so it arrives safely. Return shipping costs are covered by you.
Just reach out before sending anything back, so we can sort out the process together.
Is my painting insured during shipping?
Every original is carefully packaged and shipped with insurance. If anything happens to arrive damaged, reach out within 48 hours with a few photos and we'll find a solution together.
How long until my painting ships?
Once payment is confirmed, your painting is carefully packaged and shipped within 5 business days. Delivery time after that depends on the destination and I'll confirm it with you directly.
Can I request a custom size?
Yes, through a commissioned piece. You'll find more on the commissions page, or just message me directly and we'll figure out what's possible together.
